You so brought back memories of my da...Oh Juliette,
You so brought back memories of my dad with that poem. I don't know if he recited that particular poem but he always had a poem in hand for many thoughts and occasions, thank you for the sweet memories.

What fun for you little one going on that adventure with you!CoachKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15982427179808293539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7404620182301758750.post-14761048067054257392009-11-10T18:29:26.071-08:002009-11-10T18:29:26.071-08:00Cindy,
You can do a make up day. :) But it does ...Cindy,
You can do a make up day. :) But it does sound like you did something you love to do and isn't it great that you get to do that almost everyday!CoachKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15982427179808293539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7404620182301758750.post-17765780440949464542009-11-10T05:30:57.108-08:002009-11-10T05:30:57.108-08:00I so identified with what you were saying here. I...I so identified with what you were saying here. If I was going to do what I love, I would go on adventure into the jungle, I would go to a deserted beach and listen to the waves , I would get lost on a hike in the mountains where the path is barely seen and there is no sound but your own breathing. Then I would go have a cup of tea at a café that only travelers stop at and I would have conversations.

But when there is so much that you want to get done before a new grandson arrives, you look at what do you love doing that will further your already established goals. Thank God that my tasks for the month involve the garden and being outside – close to nature. I had our first grandson with us so I played as if we went on an adventure down the Amazon and I took him with me through the imaginary land and the over-grown part of the side garden where we the ferns are so high that they hit our faces and then we trampled through the mud!

Remembrances –
One of my good friends from youth was able to recite the poem Jabberwocky in full and I think it so entranced me that it started that love of wandering that I was driven to fulfill as I grew up. It made me happy to member all the times my friend and I would go exploring and that I could do the same for our grandchildren as I did for our son. Here is the poem for your enjoyment.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Side note - A portmanteau word is used broadly to mean a blend of two (or more) words or morphemes and their meanings into one new word. Hence SLITHY means ‘lithe and slimy’, MIMSY is ‘flimsy and miserable’. In modern times BRUNCH is a combination of ‘breakfast and lunch’.Juliettenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7404620182301758750.post-11694057873987547452009-11-09T19:07:41.361-08:002009-11-09T19:07:41.361-08:00I kind of forgot about the assignment today but I ...I kind of forgot about the assignment today but I worked in my garden all day. It is something I like to do but I do it all the time. I wish I would have thought about playing a game of Sequence earlier... when I could think and see straight. Scrabble is a good one, too. Glad you had fun with hubby.
night-night
Cindy @ Priceless GainCindy Geehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03788247867073539600noreply@blogger.com
